Planning a trip to the Gulf Coast takes real time and real money. Travel insurance is the straightforward way to make sure of an unexpected situation like a medical emergency, a family obligation that comes up at the last minute, a tropical storm that changes everything which doesn’t mean you lose the cost of the entire trip.
We make travel insurance available to all Annabelle Lodging guests because we’ve seen firsthand how much it matters when something goes sideways. Life doesn’t care that you’ve had your vacation booked for six months. Having coverage in place means you can make the right decision for your situation without worrying about the financial hit.
Florida’s Gulf Coast is an incredible place to visit, and most trips go exactly as planned. But there are a few realities specific to this region that make travel insurance worth taking seriously.
Hurricane Season: Florida’s hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30. Even if a major storm doesn’t directly hit your destination, tropical weather systems can cause travel delays, flight cancellations, and evacuation orders that cut a trip short or prevent it from starting at all.
Weather Unpredictability: Even outside of hurricane season, severe thunderstorms and flooding can impact travel plans along the Gulf Coast. Travel insurance that covers weather-related disruptions gives you protection throughout the year.
Annabelle Lodging’s Cancellation Policy: Like most vacation rental companies, our cancellation policy does not allow refunds for cancellations made within 30 days of arrival, or for no-shows, early departures, or circumstances outside of our control. Travel insurance is what bridges that gap.
Coverage varies by plan, but most comprehensive vacation rental travel insurance policies include protection for:
It’s worth reviewing the specific plan details to understand exactly what is and isn’t covered. We’re happy to answer questions about the options available to you.
Travel insurance can be added during the booking process on our website. If you’re booking by phone, ask your reservations specialist to include it. Coverage must typically be purchased at or near the time of booking to qualify for the broadest protections, including coverage for pre-existing conditions (subject to plan terms).
If you need to file a claim, visit the claims page through your insurance provider. You’ll need your reservation details and documentation related to your claim. Our team can help you pull together any property-related information you need.
Travel insurance is optional. We don’t require it. But we do recommend it, especially for trips booked during hurricane season, peak summer dates when demand is high, or any time you have travel logistics (flights, rental cars) that could be disrupted.
The peace of mind it provides is worth it. If you end up not needing it, great. If you do need it, you’ll be relieved it’s there.
