Maybe for a weekend....

This is your average ‘rental pool’ condo, which may be sufficient for a weekend or a short stay, but we were there for 19 days and it fell far short of our expectations (and what we’ve experienced in other places). This is an old unit that has had minimal, cosmetic upgrading. It was apparent that it had just recently been repainted, as there was sanding dust on all higher horizontal surfaces (above average eye level) and more sanding dust in a couple of dresser drawers in the master BR. Also any ‘loose’ items like alarm clocks, etc., had been stuffed in drawers and never replaced where they had been before the repaint. Not a good clean up or prep job to get the unit ready for rental. The good things about this unit are: 1. Location – near the front gate, backing up to two tennis courts and a very short walk to the main tennis courts and clubhouse. 2. Comfortable beds. 3. Strong water pressure. 4. Lots of hot water. 5. Nice large TV in the living room and TV’s in each BR. 6. A small BBQ grill is furnished. The not so good things: 1. As noted, this is an average ‘rental pool’ condo. It is a bit sterile, nothing there to make you feel like you really want to be there…to make you feel comfortable. 2. The living room couch looks good in the pictures, and is good for lying down, but not very comfortable to sit on….the cushions are too wide, so if you sit back, you cannot bend your legs. It is also of low quality as I picked up one of the pillows and my finger went through the seam. 3. The bathrooms are very tired and have not been upgraded. Old style low counter tops, and after taking a shower in the 2nd bedroom bathroom, I placed the towel on top of the curtain rod, only to have it come tumbling down. Again….a lack of detail on the preparation of the unit. 4. 2nd Bedroom – there are no doors on the closet. This actually shows in the pictures, but why aren’t there doors? Also, there is no dresser in this bedroom and what furniture is there is older and beat up. The piece of ‘furniture’ that the TV sits on has a dozen drawers that are 5” wide and two larger drawers that were stuffed with what looked like gray blankets. 5. Kitchen – is sufficient, however one of the cabinet doors would not latch, and their solution was to use a rubber band connected to the adjacent door knob…to hold both doors closed. Really? I think that is telling on how they view maintaining this unit……quick, cheap and dirty. Also, the dishwasher is the noisiest/loudest that we have ever experienced….anywhere. Other Things: 1. We had a couple of maintenance issues while there. Vacasa was very prompt and courteous and resolved all issues in short order. 2. There was substantial work being accomplished on the exterior of the building while we were staying there…..power washing, roof work, etc. It would have been nice to have been notified (ideally at the time of booking……but at the least at check in) that this was going to happen as it affected our ability to sit outside on the patio/deck during the course of at least 2 days, and was generally disruptive. Workers were all over the building on ladders, on bucket trucks, etc…..it was a construction site for over a week. The only notification received was a door ‘hanger’ note, the day before the work started. We would not rent this unit again, unless significant improvements were made. It has the potential to be a nice, comfortable villa, but it needs substantial work to get there. This is the 2nd tennis villa that we have rented at Tops’l, through Vacasa. Both were disappointing and not up to our standards/expectations and have soured us on renting there again…..at least in a tennis villa.

Upon arriving at the location, we received a email with our check-in instructions. The unit was clean and so inviting. I absolutely loved the kitchen 💓! The rooms were as described and each came with a separate bathrooms. This was our Anniversary getaway and our best trip this far. You will not be disappointed with this location. Thanks for a Fabulous experience.
